Africa-Press – Angola. Angola Telecom will continue to focus on its restructuring plan, before its privatisation, said Friday its Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA), Adilson Santos.
“Right now, we are not talking about privatization because the company is undergoing restructuring and the Angolan government understands that it needs to be done first, before privatization, naturally, so that the act of sale or IPO is more profitable”, he explained.
The manager, who was answering the question about the current situation of Angola Telecom, referred that the company is on its way back, solving, for example, the social problems of its employees.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event honoring 82 retired professionals from the company, Adilson Santos made it known that the company will continue to play an important role in the telecommunications sector in Angola.
The act of tribute for the retired Angola Telecom professionals was attended by the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mário Oliveira.
Angola Telecom is a public telecommunications and multimedia company, founded in 1992, from the merger of state-owned companies, Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicações (ENATEL) and Empresa Pública de Telecomunicações
