Africa-Press – Angola. The plenary of the National Assembly considered, Wednesday (23), the Draft Resolution approving the Constitution of the Angola/Turkey Friendship and Solidarity Group. This diploma goes to the final vote in Parliament today, after being presented, on Wednesday, at the first ordinary plenary meeting of the Interparliamentary Group of the National Assembly.
This Joint Report-Opinion was approved at a joint meeting of the Specialized Working Committees on 10 February of this year, with 44 votes in favour, none against and no abstentions.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Meclis) created the Turkey/Angola Friendship Group and asked the National Assembly of the Republic of Angola to also create a homologous Group to improve cooperation relations between the two Parliaments.
The ties that unite the two countries are historical and ancient. Turkey was one of the first states to recognize Angola’s independence, proclaimed on November 11, 1975.
Yesterday’s first ordinary plenary meeting also approved the annual report of the Inter-Parliamentary Group of the National Assembly, as well as its work plan.
Parliamentary agenda
In accordance with the parliamentary agenda, the resolution that approves for ratification the Agreement on Mobility between the Member States of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries, voted yesterday, in detail, by the deputies of the National Assembly, as well as the draft Legislative Authorization Law that authorizes the President of the Republic, as the holder of the Executive Power, to legislate on the Social Protection System of the Angolan Armed Forces, the draft Resolution on the Consideration of the Execution Report of the OGE for the second quarter of 2021.
