Africa-Press – Angola. Angola joined the Member States who voted, this Wednesday, 12, in favor of resolution A/ES-11/L.5, “Ukraine’s territorial integrity: defending the principles of the United Nations Charter”.

According to a press release, the document that was voted during the eleventh Special Emergency session of the General Assembly obtained 143 votes in favour, 5 against and 35 abstentions.

The diplomat stated that Angola voted in favor of this resolution, in accordance with the well-founded principle of the sacrosanct territorial integrity enshrined in its own Constitution, which defines Angola as a unitary and indivisible State, whose territory is inviolable and inalienable .

Emphasizing that since the 1960s, the Russian people have always shown their friendship and solidarity with the Angolan people, having played a decisive role in our struggle for liberation against colonialism and against the invasion of Angolan territory by the army of the Apartheid regime of South Africa.
