According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent, the Kinshasa summit also elected the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Félix Tshisekedi, as acting president of SADC.
The summit also elected the President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, for the post of chairman of the Cooperation Body in the Areas of Policy, Defense and Security and the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, for the position of the next Chair of the Cooperation Body. in the areas of Policy, Defense and Security.
