The fights of the world competition disputed in the five weight categories (60kg, 67kg, 72kg, 82kg and 97kg) were very close due to the high level of competitiveness of the opponents, already used to this type of competition.

Because of this, Bombo Cardoso was not so lucky in the grand final match and lost to Arturo Espies from Spain, who took the gold medal. Upon reaching the title of vice-champion in the world in his category, the athlete thus achieves an unprecedented victory in his history as a fighter.
