Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan athlete, Bombo Inelton Cardoso, in the -84 kilograms category, won the silver medal at the Under-23 World Championship, which takes place in the city of PonteVedra, in the Kingdom of Spain.
In the competition that takes place in the styles of grappling, Greco Romano, wrestling and women’s wrestling, the athlete who also accumulates titles at the level of national competitions, showed his potential, beating French Samy Mezache in the semi-finals by 3-1 .
The fights of the world competition disputed in the five weight categories (60kg, 67kg, 72kg, 82kg and 97kg) were very close due to the high level of competitiveness of the opponents, already used to this type of competition.
Because of this, Bombo Cardoso was not so lucky in the grand final match and lost to Arturo Espies from Spain, who took the gold medal. Upon reaching the title of vice-champion in the world in his category, the athlete thus achieves an unprecedented victory in his history as a fighter.
