Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador, Azevedo Xavier Francisco, delivered, on Monday, letters of credentials to the President of Bolivia, Luís Alberto Arce Catacora.
The event, which took place today at Palácio Quemado, the main seat of the Executive branch, also served as an opportunity for the Angolan diplomat to raise awareness of the challenges of the new Angola, having stated that the country has business opportunities for any businessman who wishes to invest.
“One of our main focuses at the moment is food production and the development of the industrial park. Angola has its doors open for Bolivian investors to install their large, medium and small factories, mainly in terms of manufacturing industries”, he assured.
Azevedo Xavier Francisco clarified that Angola is a turning point for conquering the Southern African market, within the framework of Regional Economic Integration, as it is a prosperous market.
In a meeting with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Freddy Mamani Machaca, the two interlocutors agreed to hold a political consultation meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries, in the first quarter of 2024, as well as scheduling the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the Political Consultation mechanism between the two countries.
The intention to sign the Draft Agreement to Suppress Visas in Diplomatic and Service Passports, in the first phase, and subsequently in ordinary passports was also part of the meeting’s agenda.
Azevedo Xavier Francisco also took advantage of the moment to deliver the PLANAGRÃO and the legal framework for foreign investments, documents that were received with great satisfaction.
It should be remembered that during a stopover in Luanda, last August, after participating in the BRICS summit in South Africa, the President of Bolivia, Luís Alberto Arce Catacora, reinforced his country’s interest in cooperating with Angola, at the meeting which he held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport.
Based in Buenos Aires, Azevedo Xavier Francisco has also presented his credentials in Paraguay, awaiting the moment to do so in Uruguay and Chile.
