Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participated last Sunday, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in an exhibition commemorating the National Immigrant Day in that country, having provided cultural and artistic moments, which identify the uses and customs of the Angolan populations.
Members of the Angolan community and employees of the Angolan Embassy in Argentina provided moments of massemba, a dance that was very well received by Argentines and foreigners present in the square that hosted the initiative. The Angolan exhibitors took advantage of the moment to offer some national gifts to Argentine and foreign participants.
The 4th of September in Argentina is celebrated as National Immigrant Day, a date established in 1949, in historical and cultural tribute to immigrants in that South American country.
The Angolan embassy in Argentina is promoting some cultural activities in that country, with emphasis on the photographic exhibition entitled “António Agostinho Neto, a life of surrender”, which is on display at the National Museum Estância Jesuítica de Alta Gracia, province of Cordoba, Argentina.
The same exhibition will continue next week to Buenos Aires, in the central act of the centenary celebrations of Agostinho Neto, on the 17th of September. Apart from this activity, the diplomatic representation of Angola in Argentina has mapped the presence of Angolans in that South American country.
