Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda, 1º de Agosto and Sagrada Esperança, Angolan representatives in the Afrotaças, are part of the list of 58 teams, from 46 National Federations members of the African Football Confederation (CAF), licensed to compete in the Champions League and Nelson Mandela Cup .

The information was released, Monday, on the CAF website, to spread the names of the clubs that received the license for this 2022/23 season.

Tricolores from Eixo Viário and soldiers from Rio Seco will compete in the qualifiers for the group stage of the Champions Clubs’ League.

In the first leg, between 9 and 11 September, Petro and 1º de Agosto travel to the cities of Matola and Lusaka, where they face Associação Black Bulls and Red Arrows FC, respectively.

In the second leg, the tricolors will play, on 17 September, against the Mozambican team, at Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro. The following day, 1º de Agosto receives the Zambian formation, in the same venue as Camama.

The diamonds, who were third in the last edition of Girabola’2021/22, play the qualifying preliminaries for the group stage of the Nelson Mandela Cup.

In this competition, diamonds are exempt from the first round and await, in the second, the winner of the match between Security Systems and FC Saint Eloi Lupopo (RDC), in October.

In addition to Sagrada Esperança, USM from Algeria, JS Saoura (Algeria), Diabos Negros (Congo), DC Motema Pembe (DRC), FC Pyramids (Egypt), Hearts of OAK (Ghana), RS Berkane (Morocco) were also exempt. ), Marumo Gallants FC, Al Nasr (Libya), Azam FC (Tanzania), CS Sfaxien (Tunisia), Club African (Tunisia) and Zesco United (Zambia).
