Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan diplomat Antonio Luvualu de Carvalho, presented his credentials to the Governor-General of New Zealand, Cindy Kiro, on Wednesday in Wellington, formalizing his accreditation as Angola’s ambassador to the country.
Residing in Canberra, Australia, the diplomat is the first Angolan ambassador to Oceania to present his credentials to the New Zealand government.
In a press release sent on Thursday, the Angolan Embassy in Australia stated that Antonio Luvualu de Carvalho conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and expressed the country’s intention to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with New Zealand.
He indicated that priority areas for cooperation include agriculture, fishing, marine conservation, investment, higher education, science and technology, trade, tourism, transport, culture and sport.
The Governor-General of the New Zealand thanked the ambassador for the message and expressed her country’s interest in deepening bilateral relations with Angola, and wished prosperity to the Angolan people.
