Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan embassy in the USA has been promoting, since Tuesday, an exhibition that portrays the Angolan experience and culture, in the library of the School of Languages ​​of the US Department of State, in Washington DC, as part of the celebrations of the 48th anniversary of national independence.

The exhibition, according to a note, a partnership with the Foreign Service Institute, features crafts and other utensils that portray Angolan culture, as well as photographs, promotional videos about Angola’s main tourist destinations, landscapes and traditional songs.

With the event, he adds, the aim is to take the name of Angola beyond the classrooms and the Portuguese Section of the Institute, as well as awaken curiosity and interest in discovering this pearl of the Southern region of Africa.

“Although the window is simple, it attracts the attention of those who pass through the main corridor. Students in the Portuguese section will be able to ask questions about the pieces presented, as well as about the socioeconomic reality of Angola”, reads the note.

The Institute’s School of Languages ​​is dedicated to teaching Language and Culture to State Department Diplomats appointed to Missions Abroad.

Currently, the institute has 83 students studying Portuguese.
