Angolan Govt Encourages Central Bank’S Dynamic Stance in Moxico

Africa-Press – Angola. Luena – The deputy governor of eastern Moxico , Anderson Mutupa, encouraged on Tuesday the National Bank of Angola (BNA) to adopt a more strategic and dynamic stance to extend banking activity in the province, in a region that only has BPC and BIC banks ‘branches in Cazombo region.

The province has nine municipalities, some are 200 to 300 kilometers away from the provincial capital and have no banking services, which often lead to exodus or absenteeism among civil servants, especially at payday.

Mutupa said the initiative is expected to help the development and financial inclusion to bring services closer and broader coverage, preventing exodus in the civil service and beyond.

The National Bank of Angola is the entity responsible for implementing the Angolan State’s monetary policy and regulating the financial system. It is responsible for ensuring currency stability, defining and implementing monetary, exchange rate and credit policies, and supervising financial institutions.
