Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, defended on Friday, in Cuanza Sul, greater economic diplomacy, so that Angola stops being just a resource operator and assumes the role of investment promoter.
The Minister, who was speaking at the end of the V Consultative Council of this Ministerial Department, said it was necessary to reinforce economic diplomacy, with a view to boosting the national economy.
He stated that it is an important role to continue working towards national economic diversification, through the use of arable land, abundant water and sufficient human resources.
He said that the event concluded the guidelines for action by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, with a focus on achieving self-sufficiency and food security, for procedural industrialization and economic diversification.
Rui Miguêns de Oliveira defended the strengthening of the dynamics of disseminating the importance of protecting industrial property assets.
He added that the council also concluded the implementation of access to the Financing Program called “Programa Transformar Aqui”, in line with the Executive’s policy, with the aim of promoting the manufacturing industry in agricultural production areas, mobilizing cooperatives and agricultural associations.
He recommended that commercial attaches attract foreign direct investment and promote the Made in Angola brand, as well as business opportunities for the integration of national companies in international trade and the need to approve the operating regulations for specialized trade services at diplomatic missions.
