Angolan Minister Praises Diplomacy'S Role in Peace

Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António on Wednesday praised the determining role of diplomacy in consolidating peace, stability and development.

The statements are contained in the government official’s message on the occasion of Angolan Diplomat Day, marked, noting that Angola increasingly asserts itself as a credible partner committed to multilateralism, cooperation and dialogue between nations.

He said that the date is of great significance for all those who, throughout history, have honored the Fatherland by exercising diplomacy and defending the Nation’s supreme interests.

On behalf of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the governor reaffirmed the Executive’s commitment to strengthening national foreign policy, through the valorization of diplomatic staff, modernization of external action instruments and the promotion of diplomacy that is increasingly active, innovative and adjusted to the challenges of the contemporary world.

The official expressed a word of recognition and appreciation to all Angolan diplomats, in the country and in missions abroad, for the dedication, professionalism and spirit of public service with which they have represented the Republic of Angola on the international stage.

In his message, the minister paid tribute to the diplomats who have passed away and highlighted the legacy of patriotism, competence and dedication they left to the national cause.

Téte António also welcomed the young professionals who embrace a diplomatic career with enthusiasm and a sense of mission, encouraging them to persevere in the face of the challenges that the contemporary world imposes.

The minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ commitment to continuing to value the national diplomatic corps, through the promotion of continuous training, merit and the modernization of external action, so that Angola continues to be a respected and influential partner in regional and international forums.

“May Angolan Diplomat Day be a moment of reflection and renewal of commitment to the Fatherland, inspiring us to continue, with determination and a sense of mission, in defending the values that unite us and in promoting a more just, supportive and peaceful world”, highlighted Téte António.

The minister concluded the message by reaffirming the spirit of unity and cohesion that must continue to guide the work of Angolan diplomats.
