Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan tennis player Daniel Domingos occupies the 13th position of the best on the continent in the category, according to the results obtained in the African Junior Championship (U-16), played from the 25th to the 29th of this month, in Algiers, Algeria, for men.
In his career in the competition, the representative of the country played five matches, in singles, with three wins and two defeats. In pairs, Daniel Domingos won one and an equal number of defeats, but rising in the list of the best in Africa.
Still in the Algerian competition, the player was unable to repeat the feat of the first day of the Championship, when he lost, Wednesday, to the number two seed.
After an auspicious debut, Tuesday, against (host) Algerian Meghari Yacine, by two sets to zero, with partials of 6-1 and 6-2, the Angolan faltered against the Tunisian Trifi Ala, by the same result, in singular.
Despite this, the player selected and affiliated with the Kikuxi Villas Club Tennis Academy, played for position nine (9) to 15, because he was already among the top 16 in Africa, in the category, to achieve the purpose.
The same tennis player is guided by coach João Almeida, also from Kikuxi, located in the Municipality of Viana, in Luanda.
Before the African Championship, Daniel Domingos, who carried out a preparatory internship in Portugal (Academia Felner), managed to qualify in the Qualifying Zone, held in January, in Zimbabwe.
