Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and South Africa will reinforce cooperation strategies for the dissemination and promotion of tourism in the two countries, announced Wednesday in Luanda, the charge d’affaires of the South African Embassy in the country, Freddie Jordaan.
To reinforce this claim, the South African Embassy in Angola held a seminar on tourism, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of experience with Angolans and promoting the potential of the first country as an attractive tourist destination.
The Chargé d’Affaires pointed out that the seminar, held annually, serves not only to present the country as a tourist spot and exchange experiences, but also to analyze tourism as a source of income and social integration.
Freddie Jordaan also highlighted the importance of investing more in the sector, in a post-pandemic phase, which weakened tourism in general.
“It is necessary to see tourism as a crucial sector for the promotion of jobs for young people and the creation of attractive and profitable opportunities for Angolan companies in the tourism sector”, he highlighted.
Angola, he said, is a great partner for the South African tourism sector and for the interaction of the two peoples. Therefore, he highlighted the need to work hard to create a local economy.
Florinda Baptista, director general of a travel agency, who participated in the activity, considered the meeting as an asset, as it allowed to learn more about South African tourism, considered the number one in the sector in Africa.
During the seminar, which was attended by representatives of travel agencies, Florinda Baptista spoke about her work experience and as a trainee, as well as the relationship between tourism and other key sectors.
