Africa-Press – Angola. About 200 Angolan citizens who fled the war in Ukraine and, so far, refugees in Poland, arrive in the country this Sunday (5), the minister of Social Action, Family and Women Promotion told the press today.
Faustina Alves, who was speaking during the meeting of the Technical Monitoring Group to Support the Repatriation of Angolans in Ukraine, informed that Angolan citizens will arrive around 8 pm on the 6th, and will be welcomed in Luanda, the country’s capital.
“Citizens will be received by a commission that is preparing conditions for accommodation, food and everything so that they feel comforted when returning to their homeland”, he said, quoted by TV Zimbo.
Faustina Alves also said that citizens coming from Ukraine will be accommodated in two hotels in Luanda, where they will be quarantined for a period of seven days. After this period, he continued, they will be reintegrated into their respective families.
In the early hours of February 24, Russia launched a military offensive against Ukraine and Kiev authorities have so far counted more than 2,000 civilian deaths, including children.
According to the UN, the attacks have already caused more than 1.2 million refugees.
