Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s role in maintaining peace in Central Africa and the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo was under analysis on Sunday in Oran, Algeria.

The meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations for Peace Operations, Jean Pierre Lacroix, took place on the sidelines of the 10th Annual High-Level Seminar on Promotion of Peace and Security in Africa “Oran Process”, which continues today in Algeria.

The audience requested from above head of the United Nations was yet another occasion for the UN and Angola to coordinate strategies on topics of common interest with a focus on issues of Peace and Security in Africa.

“The occasion served for the United Nations Under-Secretary-General Jean Pierre Lacroix highlights the role of Angola in the peacekeeping operations of that intercontinental organization, having highlighted the country’s involvement in the stabilization of the Central Republic African and Eastern DRC”, highlights a statement from MIREX.
