Argentina's multi-sectoral commission seeks partnership in Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. A multi-sectoral trade mission from Argentina is to carry out, from 22 to 23 June next, a working visit to Angola, with the aim of implementing partnerships with Angolan businessmen, announced Wednesday, in Luanda, ambassador Alejandro Verdier.

According to the Argentine ambassador to Angola, the mission will be made up of representatives of 25 companies linked to drug production laboratories, agricultural machinery, maize and wheat vendors, among others who intend to increase partnerships.

On the subject of relations between Angola and Argentina, existing for over 30 years, the diplomat stressed that many Argentine investors intend to travel to the country, to start partnerships and commercial contacts.

“Initially, investors just wanted to sell, but now they want partnerships to produce together, in Angola, and export to third parties”, he said.

According to the diplomat, by investing or producing in Angola, they will be contributing to the diversification of the Angolan economy, according to the Executive’s programme, guided by President João Lourenço.

The ambassador recalled that Argentine producers have high technology, in various sectors and domains, which they intend to transmit or share with Angolan producers.

Alejandro Verdier referred that Angola has fertile and arable land for the large-scale production of various products that will serve for internal and external consumption.

“Angola must take advantage of its fertile and arable land. The Argentines have specialists to read the soils, to facilitate their planting”, she explained.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, he said that the two countries maintain excellent relations that cover diplomacy, agriculture, farming and training of staff, including the police.

He stressed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, Argentina bought and offered Angola 250,000 doses of vaccines for the second phase.

A lawyer by profession, Alejandro Verdier graduated from the Faculty of Law in Buenos Aires (Argentina), worked in New York (USA) and has been in Angola for three years as a diplomat.

Argentina is a country in South America and its cosmopolitan capital is the city of Buenos Aires.
