Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Armed Forces Army reiterated its appeal to all women to remain determined and show the strength of love, affection, cohesion and peace.
The appeal was expressed, on Thursday, in Cacuaco (Luanda), by the head of the Army’s Directorate of Patriotic Education, Brigadier Antónino Pessela, recognizing that “women are above all the strength of a nation”.
Speaking as part of a fraternization meeting with military and female civilians, at the Kifangondo Historical Landmark, the army spokesperson also highlighted that the activity reflects the tribute to the entire female class on March 8th, International Women’s Day. Woman, to be celebrated this Friday.
For her, all the changes likely to happen in society and especially in the army, women are essentially part of and someone who, with their magical touch, can make them happen, which is why they consider it “fair to recognize them”.
He emphasized that it has now become a culture, every year, this month, to honor Angolan women in general, particularly those in the sector, and the choice of the location for the event was due to the fact that, on the threshold of independence, many women having taken part in defending the space against all those who tried to prevent the proclamation of Angola’s independence.
He stressed that being in this place is above all valuing women, their role and making it clear that they do not have a secondary role, but above all, they have a role as important as men.
“Not only as a mother, colleague, wife and above all as someone who has a lot to give to society”, she noted.
The socio-cultural and recreational activity, marked by a guided visit to the site and lunch, was presided over by the army commander, General João Serafim Kiteculo, and was attended by military personnel and civilians from that branch, among other guests.
