Artisans Showcase their Potential in Lubango

Africa-Press – Angola. More than 30 artisans from Luanda, Benguela, Cunene, Huambo, and Huíla have been participating in the craft fair since Thursday, as part of the Nossa Senhora do Monte Festival, which has been taking place in the city of Lubango since the beginning of this month.

The exhibition features sculptures, sandals, earrings, beads, paintings, basketwork, pottery, decorative pieces, traditional utensils, and utilitarian artifacts, made with local raw materials, with prices ranging from 400 to 55,000 kwanzas.

On the occasion, the president of the Festival Committee, Paulo Gaspar, said that the initiative aims to promote national culture, encourage the consumption of products made in Angola, and create business opportunities for exhibitors.

He emphasized that the event also contributes to boosting the local economy and strengthening the tourist attraction of the festival, which attracts both national and international visitors.
