Africa-Press – Angola. The legal regime of copyright and related rights, the management of an artistic career, access to Social Security and the Patronage Law are the subjects of a debate, which will join this Thursday (7), from 9:00 am, in the extension from the University of the Catholic University of Angola, in Largo das Escolas, members of the National Union of Artists and Composers – Society of Authors (UNAC-SA).
The meeting will be divided into several panels, with the first as a speaker by Barros License and the moderation by Gersy Pegado. In the second, the speakers are Maneco Vieira Dias, Geraldo Culivela and Jean Van Djick, who will talk about “Career Management and access to Social Security”, moderated by Carlos Lamartine. The last topic under discussion is “The Patronage and forms of implementation”, whose speaker is Aldemiro Matoso and moderation by Eliseu Major.
The debates are part of the follow-up to the various UNAC-SA initiatives for the valorization of the artistic class, due to the fact that the issue of copyright and related rights are among the main concerns of the last directors of this association.
The current president of UNAC – SA, Zeca Moreno, has held debates in various parts of the country and pressured users to pay the rights, on radios, televisions, nightclubs, show promoters and portals for the use of artists’ works.
Career management and the professional card is another subject that is in the priorities of UNAC – SA, said Eliseu Major, secretary general of the institution, for whom the update and an awareness campaign are being carried out that will culminate in the issuance of professional card, which in the future will regulate the exercise of artistic activity.
