The president of the Association of Women in Legal Careers of Angola, Solange Pereira, emphasized, this Tuesday (12), at the end of a meeting with the vice president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, with whom she discussed the preparation of the organization’s congress. , the fact that women enjoy greater acceptance and recognition of their qualities in society, gaining confidence to occupy top positions in the different State bodies.

Solange Pereira said that the Constitutional Court, for example, is now known as the “Women’s Court”, as the president and vice president of the institution are women. “In addition to this institution, we have the Court of Auditors, the Boards of Directors of various bodies, all headed by women, which shows that we are on the right path”, she stressed. The president of the Association of Women in Legal Careers made it known that the meeting with the vice-president of the MPLA, Luísa Damião, served to review issues of interest to the performance and framework of the associates, as well as to present the agenda of the Association’s congress, scheduled for the 23rd, 24th and 25th of next May.

The goal, he explained, is to reflect on the steps taken in terms of parity and gender equality in the country. Delegations from the Republic of Congo, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Malawi, Mozambique, Argentina and Brazil have already confirmed their presence in the congress .

The Association of Women in Legal Careers has been active since 1995, and brings together more than 200 associates who work in different spheres of the dynamics of Justice.
