Africa-Press – Angola. The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has been working, since Tuesday, with the population of Caxito, Bengo province, aspects related to Civil, Family, Succession and Minors Law, to raise legal awareness, allowing , thus, that citizens perceive the impact of the laws in their lives.

The approach to legal principles is part of a thematic set of the second days of the PGR for the legal awareness of the populations. At the opening of the meeting, the deputy governor of Bengo for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, José Pedro, highlighted the importance of the activity in the process of raising awareness of society, in general, and of families, in particular, keeping it informed about their legal rights and duties.

José Pedro acknowledged that the issue of justice and juvenile delinquency, family breakdown, child abandonment and other evils linked to non-compliance with legal precepts “are a social cancer that can cause serious future problems in society”.

To support the justice bodies, the province of Bengo currently has a tower at the Hotel IU, in Açucareira (a recovered state asset), and a registry store is under construction, said the deputy governor. “These infrastructures will allow services to be brought closer to the population”, stressed José Pedro.

The days, promoted by the PGR, include the participation of magistrates from the Public Ministry, the Judiciary, those responsible for the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Family and the Promotion of Women, the National Institute for Children and UNICEF.

During the work, topics will be analyzed on “The system of administration of juvenile justice in Angola: advances and perspectives”, “The breach of parental obligations”, “The convention on the rights of the child and justice for minors”.

The first days took place from the 19th to the 23rd of July of last year, and analyzed situations that, due to their nature, complexity and relevance, have drawn the attention of Justice.
