Africa-Press – Angola. The prices of basic food basket products from the fourth week of July to the first week of August registered a reduction of 0.65 percent.

The price bulletin for basic basket products for the province of Luanda made by Jornal de Angola indicates that, in commercial establishments, the price variation of products from the fourth week of July to the first week of August recorded a reduction of 0.59 percent.

The products that contributed to this price reduction were tomatoes with 1.77 percent, fuba de bombó (1.58), and beef (1.17).

On the other hand, the biggest price changes were registered in products such as soybean oil with 1.30 percent, chicken thigh (1.25) and horse mackerel (0.56).

In the period in question, the biggest price reductions were observed in supermarkets Candando with 3.91 percent, Jumbo (1.89) and Angomart (1.65).

The biggest price changes were recorded by Africana Discount with 1.24 percent, Shoprite (0.53) and Kero (0.48).

Price Drop

The prices of basic basket products in informal markets from the fourth week of July to the first week of August registered a reduction of 0.73 percent.

The products that most contributed to this reduction were tomatoes with 24.13 percent, bar soap (2.10) and iodized common salt (2.01).

The smallest price changes in the period in question were recorded in the markets of Kifica, with 2.27 percent, Kantinton (1.79) and Correios (1.73).

Even so, price increases were observed in the Kwanzas with 1.44 percent and Congolese markets (0.54).
