Africa-Press – Angola. The largest variations recorded at the level of the province of Luanda were observed in the products, wheat flour with 3.03 percent, white sugar (1.93) and soy oil (1.84)
The price variation of basic food products from the second to the third week of August in Luanda province fell by 0.23 percent.
In general terms, according to Jornal de Angola’s “Price Bulletin” of basic food products for the third week of August 2022, in commercial establishments the prices of basic food products from the second to the third week of the month registered a reduction of 0.10 percent.
The products that contributed to this price reduction were tomatoes with 3.11 percent, iodized common salt with 0.91 percent and Nido milk powder (skimmed) with 0.51.
On the other hand, the biggest price changes were registered in wheat flour products with 3.03 percent, white sugar (1.93) and soy oil (1.84).
In the period in question, the biggest price reductions were observed in supermarkets Jumbo with 2.61 percent, Casa dos Frescos (1.89) and Kibabo (1.58). On the other hand, the biggest price changes were registered at Martal with 1.41 percent, Kero (0.76) and Alimenta Angola (0.60).
Informal Markets
In informal markets, the prices of basic basket products from the second to the third week of August showed a reduction of 0.39 percent.
The products that most contributed to this reduction were: iodized common salt 6.19 percent, wheat flour (3.67) and beans (3.43).
The smallest price changes in the period in question were observed in the markets of Katinton with 1.64 percent, Kifica (1.51) and KM30 (0.92).
On the other hand, there were price increases at Asa Branca with 0.67 percent and at Correios (0.539), respectively.
