Africa-Press – Angola. Petro de Luanda’s main basketball coach, Brazilian José Neto, is preventively suspended due to disciplinary problems.
According to a statement from the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), released on Monday night, the coach will be suspended during the period in which the investigation process takes place.
The suspension comes after Sunday’s game, in which the defending champions beat Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, 108-71.
Images circulating on social media indicate that the coach tried to attack one of the referees in this match, referring to the seventh round of the senior men’s National Championship.
The national champions are in third place with 13 points, two points less than leader Vila Clotilde.
Working for Petro de Luanda since 2020, the Brazilian coach has already won three national titles and the same number of Angolan Cups.
