As for national basketball, he stressed that the modality continues to grow and valued the emergence of new and talented players, some of which contributed to Angola’s qualification for this year’s World Cup in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.
The athlete was available to join the National Team if coach Pep Clarós chose it.
The international’s work agenda includes visits to the Academy of 1.o de Agosto, Formigas do Cazenga and to the facilities of different state and private media.
Also this Tuesday, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, also received, in her absence, the delegation of the Bodybuilding and Fitness selection that will compete, from the 17th to the 21st of this month, in the International tournament “Arnold Classic”, in South Africa.

On the occasion, the head of MINJUD said that promising youngsters could find institutional support in the ministry she leads, with a view to increasing the number of Angolan players in the biggest professional basketball league in the world (NBA).
Palmira Barbosa said she was satisfied with Selton Miguel’s readiness to present his basketball development project in the communities, in addition to his personal objective of rising to the NBA.
“As a ministry we have this responsibility and being a promising young man who aims to reach the NBA, we will support him to achieve his goal”, he stressed.
The official recalled that Angola is already well represented in the NBA by Bruno Fernando, so it would be good if the number increased.
