Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan men’s under-16 basketball team defeated Sierra Leone 65-37 this Tuesday in the third round of Group A, qualifying for the quarterfinals of the African Championship, which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, until the 14th of this month.

The national team easily erased the shadow of the previous round’s defeat to Côte D’Ivoire and won 36-21 today.

With Tuesday’s victory and subsequent qualification, the Angolans now have five points and are awaiting their quarterfinal matchup.

In previous rounds, the Angolans had beaten the home team 67-56 and lost to Côte D’Ivoire 51-64.Angola aims to improve on its fourth-place finish from the previous edition.

The national team includes: Edilson Barros, Joséandro André, Siro de Carvalho, Domingos Chaves, Gervásio Dias, Fernando João, Edvaldo Pessela, Domingos Nhanga, Marcelo Chisuata, Alfredo Micaba, Miguel Salabiaco, and Vadilson Domingos.
