Africa-Press – Angola. The municipality of Belas, in Luanda, has a new company for the collection and treatment of solid waste and urban cleaning. This is Vista Waste, which won the public tender for the provision of this service in that district.
The announcement was made, Thursday, by the municipal administrator of Belas, Miguel Silva de Almeida, when he was talking about the results of the aforementioned public tender, in which he explained that the new operator has the mission of collecting garbage, treating the ditches and tree pruning.
Miguel Silva de Almeida, when announcing that the contract for the provision of services by the winning operator will be signed in the coming days, said that, in addition to Vista Weste, three other sanitation companies participated in the public tender.
The administrator explained that, for the conclusion of the contract, the municipality already has the financial resources available and the last administrative procedures are in progress, in order to conclude the process.
Dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and ensuring better solutions for the management of the waste life cycle in Angola, Vista Waste has an integrated action profile in the provision of services for the collection and treatment of waste and urban cleaning, also assuming important valences in raising awareness and environmental education of the population.
Starting its activity in 2008, the aforementioned company operates in the area of waste management in the Angolan market through its largest shareholder, Mota-Engil Angola.
With about 800 thousand inhabitants, the municipality of Belas is made up of the urban districts of Kilamba, Morro dos Veados, Cabolombo, Quenguela, Vila Verde and Ramiros and the commune of Barra do Kwanza.
