Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 774 self-employment kits will be distributed this year, in the province of Bengo, to technicians trained in various training centers assigned to the National Institute for Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP), within the scope of the Action Plan for Employability Promotion (PAPE).
The data was made public this Sunday (6th) by the head of INEFOP’s provincial services, adding that 628 kits will be distributed in the municipality of Dande (provincial headquarters), Pango Aluquém (45), Nambuangongo (39), Bula Atumba (26), Dembos (26) and Ambriz (10).
“The kits are purchased at a certain price, but the beneficiary returns only 50 percent of the real value of the purchase. The State subsidy covers the other percentage”, explained the head of INEFOP’s provincial services.
In Bengo province, of the 31 technical-professional courses covered by PAPE, only eight are available, namely courses in computer assembly and repair, telephone repair, barber/hairdresser, cold and air conditioning, repair of generators, assembly and maintenance of satellite dishes, event organization and decoration.
According to the data for this year, the Caxito training center has registered 932 trainees, of which 259 are female. “But this number could increase significantly, because registrations have not yet been cancelled.”
He added that, with the exception of the provincial headquarters (Dande), the other municipalities registered low participation of young people in technical-professional training courses, mainly in Ambriz, where, last year, only ten young people enrolled in the local centre.
Last year, the province had a total of 1,700 candidates enrolled in various technical-professional courses, of which 945 were enrolled and only 786 (664 men and 281 women) completed the training.
