Benguela: New buses to reduce the deficit

Africa-Press – Angola. The normalization of public transport services in Benguela led the travel agency “Rosalina Express” to reinforce its fleet with two more articulated buses and eight “mini buses”, which will connect the coast to the interior of the province.

With the insertion of these means in the market, the growing difficulty in terms of mobility in the cities of Lobito, Benguela and Vila da Catumbela is partially resolved, as stated by the executive director of the Rosalina Express group, Edgar Oseias, for whom the improvement of roads in the province contributed to the implementation of the reinforcement.

“For the transport sector, roads are raw materials. We did not have this instrument. For example, in Lobito, the situation was very challenging, especially in the rainy season. Losses were very high, especially for intercity transport” , he stressed.

Next September, he promised, more buses will enter the market, due to the start of the school season. “As demand increases, we will place more vehicles on the market, to respond to the population’s needs. As we are not the only ones operating in the sector in the province, we decided to focus on more quality services”, he said.

Rosalina Express, he said, is a group that operates in the Angolan market in the transport, hotel and fuel segments. The Voltas, Expresso, shuttle (support for students and companies), and radio taxi services are some of the “business cards” of the company, based in Lobito.
