Africa-Press – Angola. A delegation led by the provincial police commander in Benguela, Aristófanes dos Santos, assessed, on Tuesday, the level of security at Catumbela Airport, “Paulo Teixeira Jorge”.
The visit to the airport facilities served to assess the security aspects of the airport to provide greater security to all users of that airport unit.
The delegation also included provincial directors of the Criminal Investigation Service, Migration and Foreigners Services and the Provincial Command of the Civil Protection and Fire Services, the National Police reported on Facebook.
On the occasion, the local director of the Airport Management Company, Armindo Chambassuco, presented all the areas of “Paulo Teixeira Jorge”, highlighting the video surveillance rooms, security systems, fire extinguishing, border limits, VIP and protocol areas, as well as baggage control systems.
In turn, Aristófanes dos Santos was satisfied with the progress of the works in progress, however he expressed concern about some safety aspects essential to the airport’s certification.
“We must bear in mind that this airport is preparing for its international level certification, therefore the security aspects, in the Security and Safety area, must be duly safeguarded in order to guarantee effective security”, he warned, quoted by the same source.
