Africa-Press – Angola. The Research Office of Banco Fomento Angola (BFA) will revise its growth forecast for Angola this year downwards to above 4%, estimating a slowdown in 2023 to between 2 and 3%.
“We are reviewing our growth outlook for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at a slight drop, still expecting a rise above 4%,” said the bank’s chief economist, José Cerdeira, quoted by Lusa, following of the analysis note on the evolution of GDP in the second quarter.
In May, BFA predicted that Angola’s GDP would grow between 5.2% and 5.7% this year, which would be the highest growth rate since 2012, when the Angolan economy grew by 8.5%.
The International Monetary Fund estimates that Angola will grow 2.9% this year, in line with the government’s official forecast, which is around 3%.
