Africa-Press – Angola. Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC) continues to lead the list of banking financial institutions in Angola, with more recommendations for services provided to customers.
Against the bank, which has 2.75 million accounts opened, customers complain about issues related to demand deposit accounts (improper movement and no access), housing loans, as well as the functioning of payment boxes (ATM) and payment terminals (TPA), according to the Central Bank report.
Of the total complaints that reached the National Bank of Angola (BNA), in the second quarter of this year 2023, via its portal, of the 208 complaints, BPC appears with 46, thus leading the ranking of the most complained financial institutions, among systemic banks and banking financial institutions.
Banco Angolano de Investimento (BAI) comes next on the list with 34 complaints, followed by Millennium Atlântico and Banco Económico with 22 each, 17 against Standard Bank Angola, 15 against BFA, 14 against BIC, Banco Sol with 8, and others with a smaller number.
Customer complaints against banks, in general, are related to installment transfers, foreign exchange operations, collections, prepaid cards, operations abroad.
According to the BNA document, issues related to demand deposit accounts, transparency, provision of services, consumer credit, foreign exchange operations and ATM/TPA machines, bring together a weight of 80.29% of the total number of complaints submitted to the Central Bank by consumers of banking products.
During the second quarter, the BNA says it received an average of 69.33 cases per month, which corresponds to an increase of 28.40% compared to the previous quarter, when 162 cases were registered.
Compared to the same period last year, there is a reduction of 29.69%, as 259 complaints were registered in the period.
In the quarter under review, the ranking of systemic banking financial institutions recorded an average of 18 complaints per 100,000 customers, and an average of 1.60 out of 50 customers complained against other banking financial institutions.
