Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-six thousand liters of smuggled fuel, destined for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), were seized in the last four days by the Border Guard Police of the province of Cabinda.
According to a press release from the Delegation of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) in Cabinda, diesel and gasoline fuel was found inside seven vehicles in the southern border area, specifically, in the towns of Yabi and Yema.
The statement adds that four citizens were arrested during the police operation, including nationals and foreigners, allegedly involved in the fuel smuggling scheme to the DRC.
According to the document, 140 thousand kwanzas were also seized, which those allegedly involved used to corrupt the police authorities.
Those involved were sent to the Criminal Investigation Services (SIC) for subsequent procedures.
