Africa-Press – Angola. The Border Police detained, in recent days, in the northern province of Uíge, 17 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) for attempting to illegally enter the country.
According to a corporation report that on Tuesday (9), the detentions occurred at the border posts of Béu Fiscal (Maquela do Zombo), Cuango, Camuanga (Quimbele), Mucumbi I, Kindaca and Kimbuange (Massau).
The detentions occurred due to 7 cases of attempted border violations, registered during the last weekend.
The source indicated that the illegal immigrants were referred to the Immigration and Foreigners Services Office for the necessary legal procedures.
The province of Uíge shares a 442-kilometer land border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
