Africa-Press – Angola. The Boston Celtics beat the Mavericks at the TD Garden pavilion, 106-88, on Monday night, and won the NBA with a 4-1 aggregate in the play-offs, the best of seven games.
June 17th will go down as the most important date of the century for the Celtics. Just as happened exactly 16 years ago when the team won its 17th title against the Lakers.
The Boston franchise was champion alongside their home fans, at TD Garden, this time with a victory over the Mavericks.
The Dallas team was unable to take the dispute to Game 6 and the Celtics won the NBA title 106-88, closing the series in the final of the biggest basketball league in the world 4-1.
Before the match began, the Dallas Mavericks arrived at the TD Garden pavilion with three defeats and one victory in the first four games of the final.
The visitors needed to win to keep their title dream alive, but the Celtics showed all their favoritism on the court.
Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holliday, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White dominated the final and had an electric crowd.
With this season’s triumph, the home team surpassed the Lakers in the number of titles and became the league’s biggest champion with 18 wins.
Jayson Tatum was the scorer of the match with 31 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds.
Jaylen Brown finished with 21 points, Jrue Holliday with 15 and Derrick White with 14.
Just like in the Eastern Conference final, Brown was crowned the MVP, that is, the best player in the NBA finals.

At no point in the game did the TD Garden supporters even consider a possible defeat for the Celtics. They sang loudly and supported the players in every play, which put pressure on the Dallas team from the beginning.
In the first minutes, the home team had the upper hand. They managed to maintain a certain advantage with good plays from Derrick White and Jrue Holliday.
But Luka Doncic and Josh Green started to understand each other on the court and reduced the deficit to three points.
When the Dallas team got into the rhythm of the game, Boston didn’t ease up. He made great defensive and offensive plays at the end of the first quarter.
With Kristaps Porzingis’ return to the game, the host franchise once again isolated itself in the lead and closed the first half of the match 28 -18, ten points ahead.
