BPC will deactivate 140 thousand multi-caixa cards with extended validity

Africa-Press – Angola. The Savings and Credit Bank (BPC) will deactivate, until 31 October, a total of 140 thousand customer multicaixa debit cards, whose validity period was extended in 2020, in compliance with the Presidential Decree on the State of Emergency.

In a press release, BPC asks holders of these cards to go to a nearest branch to request the issuance of new cards to replace those that will be deactivated.

The bank also foresees the reactivation of the “SMS Banking” service, for balance inquiries and account movement, among others, via a mobile phone. The service had been deactivated just over two years ago, when the bank’s computer system suffered cyber attacks.

According to the institution, the reactivation of the service will help to reduce the floods that occur at bank counters, with records of a cluster of more than 20 people waiting to be attended to.
