Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition entitled “Revolutions” which portrays the evolution of national liberation movements in Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Portugal, has been on display since Wednesday, at the National Museum in the Brazilian capital, Brasília.

The exhibition is a joint initiative of the embassies of Portugal and Italy, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the April revolution, which determined the end of Portuguese colonization in Africa.

Composed of 56 paintings by Italian photojournalist Uliano Lucas, the exhibition is scheduled to end on July 7th of the current year.

The presentation is divided into three parts that correspond to three territories photographed between 1969-1974.

The first section reflects photographs taken in the liberated areas of Guinea-Bissau, the second includes images of the guerrillas in Angola and the third portrays Portugal in the final period of the dictatorship.

The ambassador of the Republic of Angola to Brazil, Manuel Eduardo Bravo, highlighted the importance and symbolism of the exhibition, recognizing that it is a brilliant initiative that makes parts of the struggles against Portuguese colonial oppression known to the world.
