Businesspeople in Cuanza-Norte want greater participation in public contracts

Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Association of Businessmen of Cuanza- Norte, Nádia Laranjeira, defended today (Saturday) greater inclusion of local investors in the execution of public investment projects, as a measure to increase the economic potential of companies in the province.

In an interview, at Expo Cuanza-Norte, the person in charge said that she was concerned that many services or projects in the province were carried out by businesspeople from other latitudes, without however publicizing the competition modalities to ensure the participation of local investors in equality of circumstances.

He clarified that the prospect of greater inclusion of the province’s investors in the execution of public contracts arises from the need to enhance and grow local companies and reinforce job creation.

In another sense, he highlighted the provincial Government’s commitment to reversing the current situation, due to the organization of Expo/Cuanza Norte 2024 being attributed to a company affiliated with the Local Businessmen’s Association.

He recognized, on the other hand, the need for more work to improve the organization of some businesspeople who still struggle with weaknesses in terms of administrative organization, organized accounting, taxation, human resources management and preparation of investment projects.

He said that the Association of Entrepreneurs of Cuanza Norte currently has 220 registered members who, within the scope of PREI and KIXI-CRÉDITO, adhered to the Government’s financing proposals in 2023, of which only five already have their projects approved and with the financing guarantee for this month.
