Africa-Press – Angola. The 17th United States-Africa Summit, which will take place this year in Angola, represents an opportunity for companies from both continents to strengthen business relations, said the director for Corporate Affairs in Angola of the North American oil company Chevron on Wednesday in Luanda.

Luena Sebastião believes that this meeting is a very important milestone for relations between Angola and the African continent with the United States of America. Chevron, she said, is one of the American companies that first arrived in Angola, 70 years ago, and is very proud to be part of this meeting. The American oil company is “constantly looking at the various opportunities and its investment profile in order to” seek out what is competitive and important, as well as to make the priorities for developing the diversification of the industry clear in its relationship with Angola. Last year, she said, it celebrated 70 years of existence in the Angolan market, with operations in the province of Cabinda. In turn, the director for Regulation and External Relations of the American telephone network Africell, Hugo Augusto, stated that the company will use the summit to present all the potential it has to offer Angola, mainly for some African countries where it is present.Telecommunications, he stressed, play an important role, “which became even more evident after the Covid-19 outbreak and Africell, with its commitment to this sector, has every interest in demonstrating the potential and what telecommunications can offer to balance the trade balance for both continents”.

Regarding the expansion process, the manager said that the telephone company will “soon” open a central office in the province of Huambo.
