Africa-Press – Angola. Most of the works with socio-economic impact under construction in the municipality of Cacuaco, province of Luanda, within the scope of the Integrated Municipal Intervention Plan (PIIM), are physically completed in the order of 60 to 97 percent.

According to deputy Rosa Branca, in statements this Saturday , regarding a two-day working visit to the municipality, the construction of the 22 de Janeiro health centers, in the Rio Seco neighborhood, at Escola T12 da Vila Kativa, in the urban districts of Cacuaco and Sequele, is in the finishing and equipping phase.

Still during the inspection of the PIIM works, the parliamentarian visited Vila das Ideias, Sequele District, where it was possible to see the progress of the works at the local high school, with 24 classrooms.

On Friday, the second and last day of the cycle of visits to the various works underway in Cacuaco, Rosa Branca saw the construction work of the Local Health Directorate, the concreting of Via da Retranca to Sonangol, in the Urban District of Mulenvos de Baixo, as well as the Cultural Center, already in operation for more than a year, having considered the mission “positive”.

Raimundo António, in charge of the works on the Malueca/Ângelo bridges, which connect Cacuaco-Viana-Cazenga, guaranteed that despite the delay in budget allocation, the works are 97 percent physically and 40 percent complete and , citizens will soon see inter-municipal mobility facilitated.

Communities call for the installation of more infrastructure

Some residents of the neighborhoods of Vila das Ideias, Ângelo and Malueca, Distrito Urbanos do Sequele and Mulenvos de Baixo, respectively, called on the authorities to build more health units, markets and police stations, the latter to combat crime.

According to residents, who spoke during Congresswoman Rosa Branca’s visit, the Malueca and Ângelo bridges, whose works are yet to be completed, have served as a hiding place for criminals, hence the need to install a police unit in the area.

For Mário Domingos, who has lived in the Ângelo neighborhood for 20 years, the lack of lighting and policing contribute to the increase in crime.

Maria Augusta, 57 years old, also pointed out the need to build a police station and a market to avoid traveling long distances to Praça do Sabadão, in the commune of Funda.

It portends that the works on the Vila das Ideias High School, with 24 classrooms, will be completed, as the location lacks a public school.

The municipality is made up of the urban districts of Cacuaco, Sequele, Kikolo, Mulenvos de Baixo and the Comuna da Funda. It has an estimated population of 1,237,477 inhabitants and an area of 571 km2.
