Africa-Press – Angola. A collective exhibition, called “O Corpo Tântrico”, by four multifaceted Angolan artists was inaugurated this Thursday in Luanda, at Camões – Centro Cultural Português, in a special session aimed at the media.

These are Benigno N’Sito, Gegé M Bakudi, Jamil Parasol Osmar and Kristof Degrauwe, who together present 32 works in different media, namely photography, video, drawing, painting, installation and performance, an artist’s piece drawn on paper.

The sample portrays a series of “motives, causes and reasons”, which intend to provoke different sensations for its observers, a celebration of a necessary esoteric knowledge, according to the authors, in the chaotic context that is that of the province of Luanda.

Benigno N’Sito said that he expresses himself through painting and video, his experiences and personal reflections are references for his work, centered on the exploration of emotions, feelings, perception, memory and interpersonal relationships.

Jamil Parasol Osmar said that his work deals with different parts of the universe, which together form the set of everything that exists, expired in comics, ancient civilizations, video games and various types of religion or beliefs.

According to the centre’s director, Sónia Fonseca, the exhibition, scheduled to end on March 11, aims to show an awakening of the “I” represented through the arts, in a space where the flow and energy exchanges make it possible to ask certain questions, for example ” Who are we?” and “How can we get more out of the life we live?”.

The exhibition, he stressed, is a combination of five bodies such as the physical, energetic, emotional, wise and blissful, so that access to the highest and most powerful “I” is achieved, achieving liberation and constant communion with the cosmos.

Sónia Fonseca stressed that the exhibition is part of its programming grid, whose aim is to provide a stage for Angolan and international artists to present their works.
