Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Carolina Cosse, expressed her interest in deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue and strengthening cooperation with the Angolan Parliament.The intention was recently expressed by the Uruguayan Vice-President, who, according to the Constitution of that country, also presides over the General Assembly, in an audience granted to the Angolan ambassador, Azevedo Xavier Francisco, at the Legislative Palace in Montevideo.

During the meeting, Carolina Cosse invited the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, to visit Uruguay in order to boost relations between the two legislative institutions. The Vice-President of the Republic of Uruguay, according to the note from the institutional communications services in Montevideo, highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional ties as a means of exchanging legislative experiences and consolidating mutually beneficial bilateral relations.

On the occasion, Ambassador Azevedo Xavier Francisco expressed the Angolan State’s recognition of the initiative and reaffirmed Angola’s willingness to revitalize cooperation.
