Africa-Press – Angola. The president of CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, appealed, this Saturday (22), in Luanda, to the members of the coalition to be resilient and to stand firm, in the face of the adverse results of the General Elections of 24 August.
Of the 16 deputies won in the 2017 elections, CASA-CE did not elect any representative to the National Assembly in the last election.
Speaking on the coalition’s Advisory Board, Manuel Fernandes called for unity, selfless work, a spirit of innovation and honesty, in view of the coalition’s future challenges.
“We must be aware that we are facing a new scenario that leads us to a deep reflection on the present and future of the coalition”, stressed the leader of CASA-CE.
In this regard, he defended the need for members to analyze the failures committed in the preparation and during the electoral process, which led to the loss of the 16 seats in the National Assembly.
Manuel Fernandes acknowledged that there were flaws in the execution of the guidelines, as in the execution of the electoral strategy regarding contact with citizens and the recruitment of list delegates.
According to the politician, it was oriented to recruit coalition militants to perform this role, instead of having hired personnel, under the principle of service provision.
