Africa-Press – Angola. The coach of JS Kabylie of Algeria, Hamedi Meloudi, minimized the high temperature that Luanda is registering and promised to beat Petro, on Saturday, in the game of the 1st round of group A of the African Champions League.
Speaking at a press conference held this Friday at the 11 de Novembro stadium, stage of the match from 2 pm onwards, the coach of the Algerian squad promised commitment to overtake the Angolan champions in their stronghold.
“We come from a very different temperature than this one, but we are focused on the work ahead of us”, he said.
Meloudi made light of his team’s current standings in the local championship, stressing that the journey in the Champions League has another reality.
He said that since it was a very prestigious competition “we’re going to do our best”.
Meanwhile, striker Lamine Ouattara, also referred that the heat will not interfere with the group’s objective, admitting the opposite in relation to the quality of the opponent.
Living different moments in their respective championships, the Angolans lead the internal competition with 35 points, after 17 rounds, while the Algerians are in 15th place with just 12 points, in 15 rounds.
The Algerians have already won the competition in 1981 and 1990, then called the Champions Clubs’ Cup.
