Africa-Press – Angola. The Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire football teams (group B) qualified this Sunday for the quarter-finals of CHAN’2023, taking place in Algeria.

The Senegalese defeated the Democratic Republic of the Congo, 3-0, with goals from Ousmane Diouf in the 23rd minute, Baggio Saidi (73′) and Amadou Diallo (74′) in the third round match.

The Congolese were reduced, in the 33rd minute, after the expulsion of Keivin Mandiko.

In the other group and round match, Cote d’Ivore beat Uganda 3-1.

The goals of the Ivoirians were scored by Samakara, in the 12th minute, Vignon Mathieu (27′) and Aubin Kouame (78′). Moses (34′) scored for the Ugandans on the penalty kick.

In the classification, Senegal was in first place with six points, two more than Cote d’Ivore and Uganda, in second and third positions. DRC finished fourth and last with two.

Angola’s national team is in Group D with two points, in first place, but is waiting for the last game between Mauritania and Mali to find the winner.

The group is composed of only three selections and determines the first classified for the next stage.

Angola, remember, drew (3-3) with Mali and null against Mauritania.
