Africa-Press – Angola. Companies must invest in and take advantage of the business opportunities that the circular economy generates in societies, defended, this Thursday, the president of the Organization of Young Entrepreneurs of the European Union (JEUNE), Alberto Carvalho Neto.
Speaking at the 13th Water, Energy and Environment Forum, he said that the circular economy allows for greater reuse of natural resources, as well as contributing to the creation of jobs and the development of cities.
Circular economy is a strategic concept that is based on the reduction, reuse, recovery and recycling of materials and energy.
According to Alberto Neto, the country is positioning itself in this segment and solving waste problems, valuing and investing in the sustainable management of resources.
“In the last five years, in which we have been holding the forum in this African country, we have seen that Angola has made and implemented improvement strategies for the recovery of roads and with regard to the reuse of waste and projects in the energy and water sectors”, highlighted.
He stated that his organization intends to support, with free mentoring, projects by young Angolan entrepreneurs in five structuring areas, namely, in the social, education, water, energy and environment, agro-industrial and female entrepreneurship sectors.
The support is also part of creating a network relationship between the entrepreneurs who are proposing their ideas.
He encouraged citizens to present sustainable projects and called for the need for sponsorship of such programs by company directors (CEOs).
In turn, the executive administrator of ZEE Luanda-Bengo, Carla Silvestre, highlighted the event, referring to it as an extension of the International Business Forum (FIN Business), also promoted annually by JEUNE in Portuguese-speaking countries.
He considered the Special Economic Zone as the “largest industrial park in the country and a partner committed to environmental preservation and sustainable development”.
According to the administrator, ZEE is committed to adopting technologies and practices that reduce water and energy consumption, to minimize the impact on the environment and achieve significant improvements in the distribution and preservation of resources.
“This crucial forum is an opportunity for us to share knowledge, experiences and best practices, in order to build solid and collaborative partnerships that allow us to move towards a sustainable and prosperous future for all”, he highlighted.
The event is promoted by ZEE Luanda-Bengo, in partnership with JEUNE, and on the sidelines some young people will present projects for free mentoring and training.
