Africa-Press – Angola. Citizens in the municipalities of Bolongongo, Quiculungo and Banga, Cuanza-Norte province, requested the installation of bank branches in these locations to allow financial operations to be carried out.
The citizens, who spoke to the press, regarding the visit of the provincial governor, João Diogo Gaspar, reported that the lack of bank branches is one of the main factors in absenteeism among public servants.
They made it known that to access banking services they have to travel far and spend between five and seven thousand kwanzas on transport.
When asked about the issue, provincial governor João Diogo Gaspar informed that the Provincial Government has been working with bank agencies to resolve the issue.
He indicated that work is being done with those responsible for the Angolan Investment Bank (BAI), Fomento Angola Bank (BFA) and Investment and Credit Bank to install branches in these locations.
The governor noted that the problem of shortage or lack of bank branches also exists in other locations, including the main municipality, which needs more multi-banks.
Governor João Diogo Gaspar visited these locations to find out about political, economic and social issues.
In the three locations, he presided over the Municipal Auditing Council.
