Africa-Press – Angola. The Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda (CNIL) won, this Saturday, at the Alvalade swimming pool, the first edition of the International Meeting, in both genders.

In total, the CNIL accumulated 29 gold medals, 21 silver and 18 bronze in women, while in men it had a collection of 28 gold, 22 silver and 14 bronze medals.

Yesterday, the CNIL team beat the competition in the 6 to 12 year olds categories with 6,790 points for men and 9,050 for women.

In second place was 1.° de Agosto, with 3,382 pts (men’s) and 5,814 pts (women’s), followed by Clube de Natação de Luanda, with 5,143 pts in women’s. Six teams participated in this category.

From 13 to 14 years old, 1.o de Agosto won the men’s category (11, 206 pts), while in the women’s category the victory went to Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, with 11, 851 pts, in five participating clubs

In the category from 15 to 17 years old, Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda ranked first, with 14,465 points for men. In second place in the female category was 1.o de Agosto, with 9,920 points, in six competing clubs.

The Portuguese formation, Vikings Clube, took the gold medal in the categories of 18 years old men and older women, with 13, 429 and 12, 949 points, respectively, in six competing formations.

The competition, organized by the Provincial Swimming Association of Luanda (APNL), was part of the commemorations of the 447th anniversary of the capital city of Luanda, celebrated on the 25th of this month.

In addition to Angolan teams, the first event of its kind had representatives from Portugal and Mozambique.

Sunday, the last day of the race, is reserved for the open water competition, on the island of Luanda, with a distance of five thousand meters, three thousand meters and 1,500 meters.

Here is the table of medals for the pool competition, which had the participation of 195 athletes, in two days.
